GLAZING
Glazing is the protective cover over a print. We use clear single layer glass. and find that it, too, protects your artwork from the harmful effects of ultraviolet light, which can fade, deteriorate or yellow artwork. We also encourage you to consider UV-protection to your glass if you’re concerned about your artwork maintaining its richness in color over more than 10 years.
MOUNTING
Mounting art includes dry or vacuum mounting and/or stretching over bars (canvases). The appropriate backing & hanging hardware will be added to complete your work of art.
Moldings
Greenwood Park Gallery and Framing has over 100 basic in-house molding choices that are updated consistently and also has access to hundreds more through our vast array of suppliers.
Our frames are made from an assortment of materials – wood and metal, both of which can be custom-cut to fit the exact specifications of your artwork. Our frames are available in a range of colors and textures, such as gold, black, silver, oak and many other options.
Frames serve the purpose of adding aesthetics and functionality, and protecting the artwork from the environment. Our custom picture frames represent the fine quality craftsmanship relied on by professional artists and photographers.
The size, color, texture, and style of the completed frame not only enhance your artwork, but brings out your unique personality and style. Different frame styles can be combined to create custom looks that are unobtainable from mass-produced frames. The right matting and frame combination creates an artwork package that you can enjoy for years to come – no matter if you change the color of the room its in or the house it resides in.
MATS
We offer single, double or triple matting. You can choose up to three mats in materials such as paper, linen, fabric, suede, natural fibers, and more. All of our mats are available in a variety of rich hues. What a terrific difference the right mat could make in the appearance of your art piece.
Matting not only enhances artwork, it accomplishes a key task of creating space between the art and glass. Mats protect artwork from sticking to the glass, helps eliminate potential issues of humidity, and add structural support for the artwork.
Mats also can change the way people look at and respond to your art. A mat can make a small picture more impressive, a dark image look lighter, and give an everyday piece of art more depth – even a three-dimensional look. We can use mats to bring out a particular color in the artwork, or match your personal décor.
Wider mats are used to make art look even more impressive.
Wide mats emphasize the art in a dramatic way. On small pieces of art, wide mats infer the perception of value and importance. On large pieces of art, wide mats maintain balance with the size of your chosen frame, as well as keeping everything proportional.
